Students in 7th grade progress from the foundation laid in grade 6.  Students continue to use the Terms from the Elements and Principles of Art, but projects progress in technical difficulty.  Students will continue to talk about art and look at examples from Art History and Contemporary Art.

Students will learn about enlarging an image by Grid Drawing, creating an environment using Two Point Perspective,  how to create Optical Illusions, and looking at Radial Symmetry.

If time allows during the semester, students will also learn about the ancient art of Mehndi (Henna skin painting) and the artwork of local watercolor artist, Charles Burchfield.

Some of the media that students will increase thier proficiency in are: watercolors, markers,  and colored pencils.  New materials that will be introduced at this level are: Acrylic paint, Henna, and soft sculpture materials.
